Cancer Research UK Manchester Winter Run!

start line, winter run manchester

I’ve been a bit slow getting back into the gym this new year. I was away skiing for a few days and have had a hectic week at work so I haven’t been going as much as I normally would. This along with Christmas indulgences and a skiing diet consisting of cheese and wine means I feel a bit out of shape. I literally can’t wait to slim down again! However, I’m trying not to beat myself up about it. I had a brilliant Christmas and a brilliant skiing holiday. It’s okay to eat delicious things sometimes and drink a few glasses bottle of wine. I’m sure that once I’m back into my normal routine I’ll be able to lose the extra weight. When getting back into a fitness routine after some time off though, it can be great to set yourself some targets. You could sign up for an event for example…

The Cancer Research UK Manchester Winter Run is coming up very soon on Sunday 12th February and looks incredible! There are 10km, 5km and 2.5km routes available so there’s something for everyone. As well as some great things on the course to make it feel wintry and fun, such as a penguin half way through. You can even run into the arms of cuddly polar bears on the finish line 🙂 The Manchester Winter Run is in aid of Cancer Research U.K. too which is obviously a fantastic charity to support. If you’ve never run a race before then this is a great one to start with. If you’re accustomed to races though, then this is definitely one to add to the running bucket list!

During the Winter months it can seem as though it is harder to run outside. It can be difficult to motivate yourself to run in the cold and darker evenings. Having an event like this to train for though could be just what you need! Also, apparently you are actually more likely to achieve a PB during the winter months! Find out more here.

If you fancy signing up you can do so here. You can also enjoy a £3 discount is you use the code SASS3 at the checkout! Here are some photos from last year’s event to see all the fun you could have!
