Introjuicing with Currys

IJ

Hello Lovelies!

Last Sunday I joined a group of northern bloggers at the beautiful Lambert’s Yard for an Introjuicing event with Currys. The venue was so rustic and artistic. I must admit, I spent quite a while admiring the beautiful space! Anyway, we soon got started. The event was comprised of 5 different stations and I found myself at the free-for-all juicing table to begin with. It was quite daunting as I have never really done anything like this before. Watching in awe as the pros threw in all sorts of fabulous combinations of fruit/veg and yoghurt; skin, core and all, I decided to give it a try myself!

I played it safe, using strawberries, raspberries, pineapple and Onken (the best yoghurt). My wild card was a lime but seeing as I threw in a whole lime, my juice ended up being pretty sour!! Everyone created such different coloured juices and it was loads of fun. It really opened my eyes to the variety of products that you can use in juicers.

Next up was the soup table. I absolutely love homemade soup so when we were invited to try a mushroom and truffle flavoured one, I was in heaven! It was delicious, as expected. Whilst eating, we had a little chatter and I met the lovely Danielle who has a beautiful food, lifestyle and travel blog.

Next up we had a very interesting nutrition talk from Shakela Shan. She showed us some healthy oils, seeds and spices that we can add to our food. She also made us our very own super healthy green smoothie! I must admit, it was only when she added the pineapple that I enjoyed it… I think I have a sweet tooth and the vegetables alone didn’t quite cut it for me. I was very interested to hear about the use of Chia Seeds. I recently tried these for the first time at the Reon Rise’n’Rave event and found them a great addition to my yoghurt and granola.

I also had a great chat with the lovely Olivia from Lifestyle Yorkshire, I was very impressed to hear that she runs up Ilkley Moor every morning as well as practising Yoga on a daily basis. She’s definite inspiration for a healthy lifestyle.

We then made our way over to the ‘Mocktail’ station where we created crazy juices using a huge variety of vegetables. We even made one solely from Beetroot.. it was…. interesting… I did love the bright pink colour though!

Finally, we headed over to the Yoga area… perhaps not the best station to finish on after having consumed to much juice and soup but we were informed that we could take it easy! Amanda from Yoga Elementz led a session of rocket yoga which was a lot of fun. I swear I felt a few inches taller afterwards… I definitely felt the stretch.

I had a great time with Currys, learning how to use their juicers and finding out handy nutrition tips. I would love to get myself a juicer. They seem so versatile and a great way to lead a healthy lifestyle. You can get yourself one here 🙂

It was great to meet so many new bloggers and catch up with others 🙂 It was so nice to see Dei whom I met at the Thomas Cook Airlines DivasGlamVegas event and Remi again who I met way back in November at The Body Shop Christmas Launch!

Don’t forget to check out Currys’ write up of the event!

Do you use a juicer?

Lots of love,

This looks like so much fun! Me and George bought a juicer recently and it is a lot of fun- some of the juices we’ve made have been pretty gross though haha 🙂 definitely prefer fruity ones best- never thought of putting yogurt in though! We juiced a whole orange once and it was awful- similar to your lime situation :’) xxx

Hahaha, yes I definitely won’t be putting a whole lime in again any time soon! I love the yoghurt, it makes it lovely and creamy 🙂 Haha, it makes me laugh how awful the colour of it can go sometimes!! xxx

This looks like such a fun event, I just bought a juicer but tend to stick to the same old recipes I would love to be a bit more experimental.
